Buying/Finding A Design: If you don’t have design experience, and you’re not fond of pushing images and text around on pages (aka, does the idea of designing a flyer for a Bake Sale or some other event excite you, or does it make you hide under your desk?), you’re going to need to find someone to design your DIY wedding invitations for you. Fear not! Thanks to the Internet (and Etsy, bless), there are tons of places to get an invitation design. Some are even our sponsors! Here’s a short list of places to check out.

If there is a moms and dad that has been missing for the child's life, then they do not need to be taken into the invite.
Finish: Your paper finish will affect how you’re able to print and how much ink your invitation will take. Glossy papers take a lot more ink and longer to dry. Linen papers and papers with more texture have a much higher tendency to bleed, and so they won’t work with some at-home printers where you can’t change your ink settings. If you’re not interested in researching finishes because you’re not a weird nerd (like myself) who likes to feel on paper, a matte card stock is an easy, relatively foolproof option that will more than likely work for the printer you’re using.
Most of our simply wedding invitations are available with matching response cards and reception cards so you don’t have to worry about creating an ensemble that matches perfectly. We just got our invitations from elegant wedding invites and omg are they gorgeous. They were so easy to work with, they were happy to make any changes I asked of them and i went back and forth with them a million times changing the font changing what I wanted it to say. They made the changes and would send me an example of what it would look like. They didn’t place the order until I was happy and approved the invitation for printing. If you are afraid to order, do not fear you will love your invitations and you won’t spend a ton of money. If you have concerns about not having them do the guest address you can print on clear labels, you can find a calligrapher or if you have a cricut you can use the pen to address the envelopes. The assembly of the invitations was very easy even if your not crafty you can do it. I am so happy with how these came out and with the quick delivery, I think they came a week after I finally approved for print. Thank you Elegant Wedding Invite!
My husband and I will be celebrating our 40th “Ruby” wedding anniversary in January with a blow-out bash, and we’re as excited as soon-to-be newlyweds. We wanted formal invitations that reflect a winter theme and RED (because, you know, “Ruby”). We were fortunate enough to find Elegant Wedding Invites with the perfect glittery, snowflake effect, but it was advertised in blue. No worries! Within 24 hours, Elegant Wedding Invites was back with me assuring us that the invitation card could be in red. It’s everything we’d hoped for. EWI worked closely with me as we tweaked some things (our changes, not anything they’d done incorrectly) and were very prompt with our proofs. The quality of these invitations is very good, the price is more than fair, and EWI’s response time is immediate. We’re thrilled with their end product!

From flowers to cake to decor, not to mention the dress, weddings can be incredibly expensive. Many brides these days try to counter this problem by making as much as they can and cutting corners on some things that might not matter quite so much. When I first thought about homemade wedding invitations, I thought “no.” When I looked at the possibilities for DIY wedding invites, I was both surprised and inspired. Some of the most lovely invitations I have seen, (and I’ve looked at lots!) handmade invitations give an extra special touch to your celebration because you took the time to make them yourself.
I wish to extend my sincerest gratitude for the excellent attention given to my case and order referenced above. I cannot thank you enough for going above and beyond to make certain that my order was processed in a timely fashion. A special "Thanks" go to Janet who handled my request and any other members of the shipping department who did an exceptional job.
